Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer: Fragments & Chaos

Hold on to your dust bunnies and broomsticks! I'm sharing the new Fragments & Chaos collection from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer tonight, inspired by the strange, magical, and truly beautiful films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli,

You who swallowed a falling star

Your heart shall soon be mine

I don't cook! I'm a scary and powerful fire demon!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer The Best Blaze

The Best Blaze is a light sky-blue crelly full of iridescent blue-violet shimmer and holographic sparkle. A beautiful blue the color of starlight and magic, inspired by the fire demon, Calcifer. This was a bit sheer and patchy in the first couple of coats, but evened out nicely with a third. I also found the formula to be a little thick and worked best with thin coats. Shown here is three coats with top coat.

I'm not afraid of dust bunnies
You have to laugh loud to scare a spirit!

Chow time!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer I Could See Them, Too

I Could See Them, Too is a clear base full of black micro-glitter dust, holographic sparkle, and multi-chromatic pink, gold, green shifting metallic flakies. The chaotic mix of irregular-sized glitters and colorful flakes fits the wacky little soot sprites perfectly! This color could be worn on its own, as shown here, or it would look great as a topper over another color. I found it looked nicely opaque by itself in 3-4 coats. The formula was a little thick, but went on evenly and smoothed out well, although it was slightly gritty when dry. Pictured here is four coats with two coats top coat.

When I was little, I fell into a river

Your real name is... Kohaku River

Once you meet someone, you never really forget them

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small

I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small is a light turquoise crelly filled with iridescent golden-green and blue-violet micro-glitter and holographic sparkle. Another truly magical color! The bright, sparkling blue of the Kohaku River, inspired by the River God and duplicitous dragon, Haku. This had an excellent formula that went on smoothly and evenly, and had full coverage in about three coats. Here I'm wearing three coats with top coat.

It's not really important what color your dress is. What matters is the heart inside.

We each need to find our own inspiration

Just follow your heart and keep smiling.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer We Fly with Our Spirit
We Fly with Our Spirit is a blackened indigo jelly full of pink and copper micro-flecks. The colors are so perfectly Kiki! And the fiery sparkle is like the magic within her. *Sparkly, tear-filled anime eyes* I found the shimmers showed up more in the bottle than on the nail, however they really come to life in direct sun. This had a great formula that went on very even and smooth. It was a little thick but very easy to work with, and looked opaque in 2-3 coats, depending on preference. Shown here is three coats with top coat.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer did an amazing job translating these beloved Studio Ghibli characters into stunning, wearable colors! They are truly the best of both. Are you a fan of Hayao Miyazaki's films? Which of these best captures your favorite character, and which character would you most like to see in polish form?
