Femme Fatale: The Little Mermaid, Partial Review

Oh hey, where my mermaids at?! Sorry for the hiatus & delay with this one! There have been a lot of big changes for me that I'll have to share with you all soon-- like moving overseas to Japan!  Today I'll be sharing a gorgeous collection from Femme Fatale Cosmetics inspired by a classic fairy tale, "The Little Mermaid."

Edmund Dulac "The Mermaid"

Femme Fatale Dominion of the Sea Witch

Dominion of the Sea Witch is a vibrant teal-green with holographic micro-glitters, color-shifting pink shimmer, and small/medium-sized iridescent glitters that shift pink/gold/green. This really is such a mermaid polish-- I just adore the bright colors contrasting against the tropical ocean-teal. The formula was superb, and had great coverage in just 2-3 coats. The glitters made it slightly textured but it smoothed out very nicely with a coat of gelous and top coat, as shown here. In my photos I have on four very thin coats.

Femme Fatale Glittering Draught

Glittering Draught is a semi-sheer pale sea-foam aqua filled with holographic glitter dust and iridescent pink/gold/green shifting shimmer and micro-flecks. The formula was flawless and went on smooth and evenly, with full coverage in about 2-3 coats. This has a beautiful, delicate quality that can be worn slightly sheer or fully opaque. Here I'm wearing four coats plus top coat and have no visible nail line.

Femme Fatale The Mermaid's Tale

The Mermaid's Tail is a rich forest-green jelly packed with small holographic green glitters, multi-chromatic metallic green flakies, and iridescent green shimmer. The formula was excellent and went on evenly with great glitter distribution, looking opaque in about three coats. Shown here is three coats with two coats of top coat (I added an extra coat just to be safe, although I don't think it actually needed it to look smooth).

Femme Fatale Pride Must Suffer Pain

Pride Must Suffer Pain is a thermal that appears light aqua when warm and purple orchid when cool, and has iridescent green/blue/violet shifting flakies, strong pink shimmer, and a subtle scattered holo effect. I'm not always crazy about both transition colors in thermals, but these are perfection! This had an exceptional formula that looked smooth and opaque in 2-3 coats. Pictured here is three coats with top coat.

The Fallen Statue is a pale, dove-grey crelly with strong iridescent blue flash, multi-chromatic metallic fuchsia flakies, and a sprinkling of holographic glitter. I just love polishes that have a mix of different "effects" like these ones do. The formula was very good, and it can be worn semi-sheer or fully opaque depending on preference. Here I have on about 3 coats (as well as top coat) and it's near-opaque.

The story of The Little Mermaid is a childhood favorite of mine and I just adore the colors it inspired! This collection did release a while ago however some colors are still available through Femme Fatale & stockists' web sites.
