Femme Fatale: There & Back Again Collection

Today's post features colors for the upcoming release from Femme Fatale, inspired by a great adventure in a mystical land, the "There & Back Again" collection.

The "There & Back Again" collection is inspired by the novel of the same name, also known as "The Hobbit," by J. R. R. Tolkien. From icy silvers through to warm earth tones and smouldering magentas, the "There & Back Again" collection captures but a little of the fantastic essence that translates through Tolkien's magnificent work. Enjoy!

A Thief in the Shadows is a blackened violet jelly with strong iridescent blue-to-fuchsia shifting shimmer and small-sized silver holographic glitter. The bright, luminous glitters look amazing against the deep purple color. It was easy to apply and went on evenly. The glitters' sparkle shows through very through well, yet it still looks opaque in about three coats. Pictured here is four coats plus a thin coat of Gelous and top coat, which made it perfectly smooth.

Elvenking is a camel-colored crelly filled with soft glints of antique gold, iridescent green shimmer, and shifting gold-green flakes. This is such a unique color with gorgeous complexity! It applies semi-sheer but builds up easily, with nice opacity in about three coats. And the flecks were smooth with just one coat of top coat. Here I'm wearing four coats and top coat.

Heart of the Mountain is a pale, silvery aqua-blue jelly packed with iridescent pink-to-gold shimmer and holographic glitter dust. It has a beautiful snowy, frost-like quality, and appears very ethereal and fairy-dust like. The application was excellent and gave a delicate, semi-sheer look with about three coats. Shown here with four thin coats and top coat.

Lonely Mountain is a rich red-toned brown creme with an overlay of green-to-fuchsia shifting shimmers. This is another really different color, very warm and earthy. The formula was fantastic and applied very smoothly, looking even and opaque in just two coats. Pictured here with three coats plus top coat.

My Precious is a clear topper packed with holographic gold micro-glitters and pink-gold iridescent shimmer. This is an absolutely magical combination-- a super sparkly glitter-bomb! And the strong pink flash complements the gold beautifully. The application was good; it was a bit sheer at first but had good coverage in about three coats. The glitter smoothed out nicely on its own and only really needed one coat of top coat. Here I'm wearing four coats with top coat.

The Last Great Fire-Drake is a rich eggplant-plum with contrasting aqua-blue shifting shimmer and holographic gold and copper micro-glitters. This color looks so opulent and enchanting, perfectly fitting a magnificent and terrible dragon! This had a superb formula, and looked smooth, even, and opaque in about three coats. Shown with four coats plus top coat.

Wandering Wizard sheer-based glittery topper with small-sized silver holographic glitter and a subtle copper luminescence. This color is bursting with gorgeous rainbow sparkle! It has a wonderful formula and applied easily, with good coverage in about three coats. Pictured is three coats with a coat of Gelous and top coat.

The Necromancer is a rich magenta jelly filled with color-shifting fuchsia flakes, cherry holo micro-glitter, and blue shimmer. This color has so much depth and sparkle, and the glitters have a brilliant, fiery glow. The formula was flawless. It looked smooth, glossy, and nicely opaque in 2-3 coats. Here I have on three coats plus top coat.

I love how these colors evoke the magic and beauty of Middle Earth, where "The Hobbit" takes place. Some of my personal favorites are "Heart of the Mountain," "The Necromancer," and, of course, "My Precious."

The pre-sale for the "There & Back Again" collection will be from June 1st-5th, and will also be available from all stockings from mid-June onward.
