Casting Faerie Fire!

Yes it's true, I'm a nerd. A rather nerdy nerd, too. Up until about a year and a half ago, my husband and I played a LOT of World of Warcraft! And it's still very dear to me and I love it, so when I collaborated with Hot Mess Lacquers to create my dream polish, I knew Faerie Fire was the perfect name.

Hot Mess Faerie Fire + Sinful Colors Amethyst

I was in search of a nail polish full of the beautiful blue/purple iridescent glitters I'd seen bits of in various polishes. And after discovering they were present in Hot Mess's beautiful Aquanet polish, I contacted her about possibly creating this dream color for me. She very kindly agreed, and made it better than I ever could have imagined.

Faerie Fire is a mix of iridescent blue/purple hex glitters in varying sizes, small silver holographic glitter, and a green/purple color-shifting pigment. It is stunning.

The iridescent glitters work their magic best over medium-dark colors, so I chose a violet creme to layer it over, Sinful Colors Amethyst. This was two coats.

At more extreme angles you can really see the purple shift in the pigment-- so gorgeous!

This is a very special polish created by a very sweet lady, and I'm so grateful to her for making it for me! :) Due to the lack of availability of the color-shifting pigment in this color, sadly, it won't be available for sale. However, this Sunday (November 18th) Hot Mess Lacquers is releasing her new Holiday line (glitters, glass flecks, and metallics) as well a few new core colors. One that I'm extremely excited about is Coldcocked (yup!), small and medium iridescent blue/purple and silver holographic glitters in a clear base, and it is PACKED full of awesome. Awesome being "glitter," of course. You can preview them on her Facebook page here.
