Hot Mess Lacquers: Alien Jellies

A classic sci-fi horror film from the 80s, and a movie which I'd never seen until recently, inspired this new Hot Mess Lacquers collection: Aliens. Today I have two of these fantastic glittery jellies to show you!

. . .

Hot Mess Game Over, Mani!

My personal favorite is Game Over, Mani! (awesome, right?), an unusual yet striking blend of teal, golden-yellow, and holographic glitters in a black jelly base with teal-purple shifting shimmer. It captures the creepy greens and oozy acids so perfectly, and looks very dramatic and edgy.

The formula was excellent, and unlike some jellies it wasn't too thick. The base is transparent enough to allow the glitters to show through very well yet dark and build-able enough to be opaque in three coats, as shown here.

The color-shifting shimmer is quite subtle; below you can see the purple shift.

Hot Mess Hostess with the Mostest

Next I have The Hostess with the Mostest, a mix of fuchsia, red, light pink, and holographic glitters in a black jelly base. Perhaps a little gory, but it looks so beautiful and sparkly!

Hostess with the Mostest also applied perfectly, and was opaque in three coats. This is such a beautiful blend of colors, even if you aren't going for that chest-bursting mani look (but why ever not?!). The black contrasts really well with the pinks and red while still allowing them to sparkle and glow.

Hot Mess Lacquers are available for sale in her Etsy store, and check out her Facebook page for updates and info on upcoming collections (there should be something happening soon!).
