Serum No. 5: Part Two

Let's look at a couple more awesome colors from Serum No. 5 today! Here are the other two polishes sent to me to review, Sky Lights and April Showers, and they are absolutely amazing!!

I had forgotten to post the adorable packaging these came in in my last post, aren't the boxes too cute?! And her business card is so pretty!

Serum No. 5 Sky Lights over Revlon Enchanting

Sky Lights is one of Serum No. 5's signature glow-in-the-dark polishes, and it doesn't disappoint! In regular lighting, Sky Lights is a beautiful blue shimmer/sparkle that looks best layered over another color. Even in daylight the shimmer really "glows" over Revlon Enchanting; I loved this combo and received compliments on it!

The formula was great and spread easily, although Sky Lights is SO full of pigment that it can be a little thick. I think just one coat gave it the perfect amount of sparkle; I expect that additional coats would make it glow more brightly in the dark.

This is when the magic happens! Not only is Sky Lights a beautiful blue shimmer topper, but it GLOWS an amazing, super bright blue in the dark, too!

I have to admit, this color kept me up at night because it was just so fun to stare at and wiggle my fingers in the dark! And once it's "charged" (held under a bulb for a minute or in sunlight), it keeps glowing for hours. I woke up just before sunrise and my tips were still glowing blue!

In the photo below I was still figuring out how to adjust the flash and shutter speed on my camera to capture the glow, but I love how it's lit up AND glowing simultaneously!

Serum No. 5 April Showers over Essie Cocktail Bling

Lastly I have April Showers, a sheer, frosty white iridescent shimmer with iridescent hexes and semi-transparent satin white square and hex glitters. Personally I feel this one works best over another color, but it could also be layered to be mostly opaque. The shimmer and iridescents give April Showers a very soft, ethereal look-- it's a subtle and really lovely polish.

The formula was very smooth and the glitters spread out nicely. If you do wear it over another color, be sure to apply it evenly or you might see brush strokes as the shimmer is fairly strong.

Serum No. 5 polishes can be found for sale on her website as well as her Etsy shop, and you can find out about upcoming collections and restocks on her Facebook page. There are some exciting new colors in the works and a sneak preview up already!
