Tieks Electric Snake Nails

It's finally almost Spring, and I'm really looking forward to the fun, bright colors of the season! I have an "electric snake" nail art look inspired by an awesome Tieks print to share with you all today, and I absolutely love how it turned out!

Tieks is a brand that specializes in women's designer ballet flats that I'd recently heard about, and immediately fell in love with some of their fantastic colors and patterns. However once I saw the price tag on my favorite pair, I decided that I would try to recreate the look through a different, and more affordable, medium (for me anyway!)

Source: Tieks

To create this look, I started with a minty-aqua creme as my base, Wet n' Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint. Next I used a cosmetic sponge and dabbed on small patches of fuchsia and bright teal: SpaRitual Knowledge is Power and Sally Hansen Triple Shine Dive In, respectively. Then I used Essie Good as Gold and added small dabs of gold, and finally topped it with alternating snakeskin patterns in black using Pueen plate Pueen14, followed by a coat of Seche Vite (after waiting plenty of time for it to dry, of course). Some of the pattern didn't transfer as well as I would have liked, but I still just love the result!

I just love how the black snakeskin pattern looks against these bright pastels! Fashion prints are some of my favorite inspiration for nail art, and I already have a few in mind I'd like to try next!

    1. Thanks Amy!! Ugh I know right?! Next project: sponging polish onto a pair of flats... ;D (That would take a LOT of stamping!)
