Today I get to a share a very special collaboration between two amazing makers, Emily de Molly and Chaos & Crocodiles! Together they've created a set of phenomenal colors inspired by the show "The X Files," "I Want to Believe." Read on for more swatches and my review!
Chaos & Crocodiles Never Give Up on a Miracle |
Chaos & Crocodiles "Never Give Up on a Miracle" is a rich cranberry-red jelly with an ultra-linear holographic effect and a strong violet arc. Just whoa, right? I don't think I can fully describe how awesome this color is, so I'll just let the pictures do the talking! The formula was excellent, very even and opaque, and nearly a one-coater. I'd also like to note I didn't have any issues with staining, which I always appreciate with vibrant colors like this! Pictured here is two coats with top coat.
Emily de Molly Human Oddity |
Emily de Molly "Human Oddity" is a dusty cornflower-blue ultra linear holographic jelly base filled with bright aqua sparkle and silver holo micro-glitter. This blue has this perfect soft, eerie glow, and a very cool slightly metallic finish, The formula was impeccable, and was super easy to work with and apply smoothly. It was slightly sheer at first, but built up nicely in 2-3 coats. Shown here is three coats plus top coat.
Chaos & Crocodiles You're My One in Five Billion |
Chaos & Crocodiles "You're My One in Five Billion" is a black jelly filled with sparkling metallic blue and red ultra-fine glitter as well as green and orange iridescent color-shifting flakies. I looove the effect of the striking blues and greens against the dark base. The formula was great; a little bit thick but easy to work with, and I found it applied best using thicker coats to even out. It looked fully opaque in 2-3 coats, depending on application & preference. Here I'm wearing three coats and top coat.
Emily de Molly I'm Not Saying It's Aliens |
Emily de Molly "I'm Not Saying It's Aliens" is a rich forest-green jelly super-linear holographic with pink-to-copper shifting shimmer and iridescent green-blue flakies. This one might just be my favorite, but it's really hard to say! I just love this gorgeous green and how the flakies and shimmer complement it. This also had a superb formula that looked nicely opaque in about two coats, and had a smooth, even application. Pictured here is three coats with top coat.
I love what Chaos & Crocodiles and Emily de Molly have created together here! The colors are so otherworldly and unique, and really capture the feel of "The X Files." These four spectacular limited-edition polishes will be available for pre-order at www.chaosandcrocodiles.com for 24 hours only starting today at 8 pm EST. Are you ready to believe?!
