Darling Diva Material Girl & Lucky Star

Grab your leg-warmers and hairspray and get ready go totally 80's! Today I have two of the new Madonna-inspired glitter polishes sent from Darling Diva, Material Girl and Lucky Star.

Darling Diva Material Girl

Material Girl is a slightly shimmery bubblegum-pink jelly filled with micro to large silver holographic glitter, as well as small and medium fuchsia circles. The jelly is the perfect consistency:  just a bit sheer with two coats, and mostly opaque in three, as pictured here. The amount of glitter allowed it to build very well and still look smooth and sparkly (not a mass of lumpy glitter!). The larger glitters required a bit of fishing/dabbing, as per usual.

I could easily have gotten away with just two coats, and will probably do that next time I wear this. Material Girl's finish was quite glossy and the glitter showed through nicely!

Darling Diva Lucky Star

Lucky Star is a sheer white crelly with small/medium neon pink squares and neon yellow and black stars. And the other awesome (and fantastically fitting) part about Lucky Star is that it glows both in UV light and in the dark! The base is glow-in-the-dark, and the neon glitters glow super bright under black light.

Lucky Star also has an excellent formula. Although it is rather sheer, it would layer really well over another color. Here I used 3-4 coats by itself, and while it still isn't completely opaque, I think it looks great this way, too. The pink glitters came out and applied nicely, and the stars were easy to fish out and place them where I liked.

Even the neon glitters seem to glow in the dark!

Darling Diva Polishes are for sale in her Etsy shop as well as through Llarowe. She has just released a bunch of beautiful new colors-- some inspired by Madonna songs, and more glow-in-the-dark polishes!
