Femme Fatale: Christmas & Holiday Colors
Happy (almost) Thanksgiving everyone! I'm so stoked to share this exciting news! A short time ago, after my first review of her polishes, Sophie of Femme Fatale Cosmetics contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing promotional material for her brand. As soon as I'd finished jumping, flailing, and squealing with joy, I told her, "Absolutely yes!" and began swatching and photographing her beautiful colors. It's been a fantastic experience; Sophie is a sweetheart and has been delight to work with, and I've really enjoyed putting together photos of her amazing polishes. So today I finally decided to share swatches of some of her new colors for Christmas and the Holidays, since it's already just around the corner! Where did this year go?!

A Very Merry... Autumn!
It's that time of year at last! I've been going through my stash to find my most autumnal colors to get into the Fall feeling. So I bring you another beautiful and, sadly, hard to find polish from OPI's Victorian Holiday collection, here is the lovely and enigmatic Merryberry Mauve.

Nutcracker Sweet
I love this subtle beauty! It's so perfect for Autumn and Winter. Here is an oldie from OPI's Victorian Holiday collection back in 2002, Nutcracker Sweet.

Warm and Fozzie
From OPI's Muppets collection, here is Warm and Fozzie-- a really gorgeous mix of bronze, olive, and rose shimmer.
OPI Warm and Fozzie
This is such a unique color with a great formula, though I did need three coats for full coverage.
Warm and Fozzie has a very "Fall" feel to it, and also reminds me of my kitty's beautiful fur.
Gemma and W&F
Thank you for looking!

Vant a Whimsical Valentine Mani?
I thought Whimsical would be the perfect Valentine's mani-- very sweet and a little girly. OPI I Vant to be a Lone Star is a pretty, light blue that matches the base, and I decided to alternate it with Zoya Kendal, a pale, dusty lavender.
Revlon Whimsical over Zoya Kendal and ring finger OPI I Vant to be a Lone Star
And the other hand was OPI Lone Star with Kendal as the accent; I really loved both!
I wanted to bring out the subtle green sparkles I spotted in Whimsical so I also added a layer of Pure Ice Heartbreaker, a beautiful green shimmer.
Whimsical seems like it's going to be part of Revlon's core line, but it hasn't been in every new Revlon display I've seen. I found mine floating on a shelf at Rite-Aid, and another at Ulta, so hopefully it will be part of their Revlons when they change out. Happy Valentine's Day!

It's been a while!
Well a lot has happened in the last few months. At the end of September we moved from Colorado Springs to Charleston, South Carolina, and stopped in Ohio to visit with the husband's family for a few weeks along the way, and just had our family come down to visit us for the holidays in our BRAND NEW FIRST HOME, yayy! Of course, during this time many polishes were accrued, and today or tomorrow I plan on going through my stash and organizing/setting aside for swap or sale/taking pictures of said holiday haul. In the meantime, I have pictures of awesome cool new spring collections and pictures of my first and favorite franken-polish.
First, check out Zoya's True & Fleck collections, available for pre-order January 10th (only a week away)!
Cho: Vanilla shimmer metallic
Farah: Latte beige cream
Bevin: Pale sage green cream
Skylar: Silvered slate blue metallic
Tru: Gilded purple orchid metallic
Lotus: Light lotus purple metallic
Maisie: Blue tint with mylar green fleck effect
Opal: Green tint with mylar green fleck effect
Chloe: Pink tint with mylar green and gold fleck effect

Aaghh, those blues! Those shimmery, glass-flecked blues! Plus more killer purples from Zoya. Yeah, they're amazing. And I'm so happy Zoya is making flakies, because theirs look stunning. Only a couple of bloggers have swatches up, and they are worth taking a peek at because these promo pics just don't do these colors justice.
And until I upload and go through and finish posting many other manis, franken fun!
Dusty turquoise is one of my absolute all-time favorite colors (hence the squealing over these upcoming blues), and I can't get enough of it! I have a couple that are similar in color (Butter London's Victoriana, Rescue Beauty Lounge's 360), but I wanted a subtle yet visible shimmer (plus a little holo, why not?) so I mixed this up!
Here are the polishes I used:
L-R: Wet n Wild Blue Moon, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, Sinful Colors Mint Apple, Wet n Wild Blue Wants to be a Millionaire, Forever 21 Love & Beauty shimmery teal
My inspiration for this color was a mix between Cult Nails' Let Me Fly and Rescue Beauty Lounge's 360. I recently acquired 360, after mixing this color, only to find the subtle shimmer that made me love it so was basically nonexistent except in direct sunlight. Oh well! It's still a gorgeous color. Maybe I'll just have to pick up Let Me Fly, too. ♥

Skittle Mani?
The other week my indecisiveness led me to try a "skittle" mani with a spring-inspired palette and lots of flakey goodness. I just can't get enough of Nubar 2010 and am always surprised and very pleased with how it looks over different colors.
From thumb to pinky I have Nubar 2010 layered over Nubar Wildlife, Zoya Pru, Nubar Indigo Illusion, OPI It's Totally Fort Worth It, and Zoya Dannii.
I still need to learn and perfect a good nail clean-up method. I've tried using both a cotton swab and also a paintbrush dipped in acetone to clean around the edges. Maybe I have the wrong type of brush because that was painfully difficult and took forever! For now I am in the bad habit of simply waiting until it is dried, washing my hands and trying to peel off the excess. >.>;;
